A LOVE LETTER TO YOU 💌
This initiative focuses on providing residents in healthcare environments with a form of human connection that helps to ease certain feelings of isolation and loneliness (which would have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic).

The "A Love Letter to You" Program provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to make cards for patients battling serious illnesses and change the world with small acts of kindness, and they don't need money to do so.

Before you start, please make sure to go through our guidelines:

1. Be Kind: Keep your letter G-rated (remember, your letter may be going to a child). While sentiments such as “I will keep you in my prayers” are okay, please avoid political and religious messaging. Let your letter be a beacon of hope and love!

2. Avoid "feel better" messages: Hospitalised and seriously-ill patients have enough reminders of being sick. Some patients may be in hospice and unfortunately know that they won't get better. These cards can cause more harm than help. Your letters and cards are meant to be a reminder that they have people in their corner rooting for them!

3. Sign with your name: Signing your name (first name only!) is a personal touch that can make the letter even more meaningful to its recipient. If you feel comfortable, include a little bit about yourself (activities you enjoy doing, your age, etc.) – but please don’t overshare! Please don’t share last names or schools.

4. Do not provide other identifying information: Please don’t include information like phone numbers, addresses, the city you live in or any other personal information. We can’t forward on letters that include that information. You may include social media information if you want, but please note that you assume all associated risks.

A few card phrase ideas can include:
-
"You are loved"
-
"You are so brave"
-
"I am rooting for you every step of the way"
-
"You matter"
-
"I look up to you"

Truly, anything that is kind, loving, and uplifting is perfect!

You can choose to upload scans of your cards or you can mail them to our mailing address mentioned below!
